What is Le Nez du Vin?

Le Nez du Vin (“The Nose of Wine”) is a world-renowned wine education kit created by French wine specialist Jean Lenoir. The complete kit contains 54 glass vials, each holding a single concentrated wine aroma — from blackcurrant and vanilla to cedar, leather, and oak.

Using the kit alongside illustrated information cards and an instructional booklet, winemakers learn to identify, name, and remember the full spectrum of aromas found in wine. Regular practice with the kit sharpens the sensory vocabulary that separates good winemakers from great ones.

Le Nez du Vin has long been used by winery personnel, sommeliers, wine merchants, and educators worldwide to develop and maintain sensory expertise.

Borrowing the Kit

BCAWA maintains one Le Nez du Vin kit available for loan to member clubs. The kit is for BCAWA members only — your club must hold a current BCAWA membership to borrow it.
